Recognizing outstanding contributions to Strong Start
On Thursday, October 6, 2016, The Guelph Community Foundation held a community breakfast to celebrate 16 years of inspiring change. Over $200,000 in grants were announced at the celebration which will be used by 37 charities to deliver programs and services to Guelph and its surrounding communities.
The Mighty Machines Showcase is a fun, family-oriented community event that brings Mighty Machines to life! It provides adults and children of all ages with a chance to see construction and other service vehicles up close. The showcase ran on Saturday, September 17, 2016 and Strong Start was lucky to be the charity partner again for this year’s event.
As pillar in our community, Toyota celebrates its 30th year by giving away a total of $30,000.00 to many worthy causes. Employees nominated charities they cared about to receive a $3,000.00 gift in support of their initiatives.

Strong Start has been blessed to receive financial support from The Catholic Community Foundation of Waterloo Region for the past three years, with the funds being used in our Letters, Sounds and Words program to help children learn to read. This year, we had the opportunity to showcase the Foundation’s support with a cheque presentation at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Elementary School in Cambridge.
