On Thursday, October 6, 2016, The Guelph Community Foundation held a community breakfast to celebrate 16 years of inspiring change. Over $200,000 in grants were announced at the celebration which will be used by 37 charities to deliver programs and services to Guelph and its surrounding communities. These funds were distributed from their Community Grants envelope, the Community Foundations of Canada – Canada 150 Fund, and the Musagetes grant program.

Along with other community organizations, Strong Start was honoured to receive a $3,000 grant to support the 2016-2017 Letters, Sounds and WordsTM program in Wellington County. We are more than appreciative of the Foundation’s continued support of Strong Start and look forward to using this gift to help more children learn to read. We truly are stronger together, and extend our sincere appreciation to Chris Willard, Executive Director of the Guelph Community Foundation, and the Foundation’s Grants Committee for choosing to support Strong Start this year.
