As the Ontario North Regional Program Co-ordinator for the Letters, Sounds and Words™ program, Krista is responsible for supporting program partners, providing Volunteer Coach training, overseeing program implementation, and building community relationships.

Krista comes to Strong Start® with a true passion for children’s literacy. She first connected with the program as a Volunteer Coach. She has been an active member of her community for more than 10 years in various roles including Chair of her local Community Council and also served as CPIC Chair with the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board. Beyond the school setting, Krista has contributed her time and leadership to initiatives such as the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Fundraising Gala, the Alliston & Area Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee, and the South Simcoe Music Festival.

Krista holds an Honours Bachelor of Science (Human Ecology) degree from Brescia College, Western University, and has completed training in the Basics of Decoding and Spelling Instruction through IDA Ontario. She brings to Strong Start her background in leadership, relationship building, and literacy advocacy, along with her warm and positive energy. Please contact Krista if you have questions or inquiries about the Letters, Sounds and Words program in Bruce, Grey, Simcoe, and Muskoka.
