We care about children and believe they deserve the best chance for healthy development, access to learning and a happy, successful life journey. If we can reach children when the greatest impact is possible, the chances are better that they will achieve those outcomes. Acquiring the essential life skill of reading is one of the great enablers for learning. Feeling part of a group, making friends and practicing literacy skills with a caring adult, helps build a child’s confidence and improves self-esteem.
Research shows that approximately 1 in 4 Canadian children struggles when they are learning to read.
