Strong Start® Charitable Organization is pleased to welcome Christine Giese to our team!

As the Regional Program Co-ordinator for the Elgin, Middlesex, and Oxford Counties, Christine is looking forward to developing partnerships with school boards and schools in our region. She will be responsible for Volunteer Coach and Site Co-ordinator training, program implementation at schools, volunteer recruitment, fundraising and promotions. Christine brings 27 years of experience working in the education field. She has taught JK/SK to Grade 8 and has worked as a Teacher-Librarian. As a retired educator from the TVDSB, Christine is eager to work with our local schools in this new role!

Christine is a literacy champion and holds a Master’s Degree in Language Arts Education and a PhD in Curriculum, Teaching, and Learning from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. Christine also has Specialist Qualifications in Special Education and is certified in TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language). Christine works as an instructor in the Teacher Education Program at Brock University, and continues to be passionate about the power of literature and literacy to transform lives.
