Strong Start Introduces New Online At Home Resources

Waterloo, Ontario, Canada – March 16, 2021 – Strong Start Charitable Organization is excited to announce the release of new, online At Home Resources to support children’s early literacy development at home.

COVID-19 has had an unprecedented impact on young learners. The absence from the classroom and varying experiences in at-home learning have compounded the learning disparity in Ontario. “We worry about the mental health and social-emotional development of all children during the COVID-19 pandemic,” noted Strong Start Director of Program, Colette Moffat. “Equally concerning is the knowledge that studies are showing that those young children who struggled with literacy prior to shutdowns and isolation, fall further behind due to interrupted support of their learning.” The At Home Resources can help children acquire the essential life skill of reading, while providing parents/caregivers an opportunity to support children in the home.
