Tepperman’s, a family-owned and operated furniture, mattress, appliance, and electronics retailer celebrated its Grand Opening in Kitchener by giving away a total of $50,000.00 to local charities. Along with 9 other organizations, Strong Start was chosen to receive a $5,000.00 gift to help ensure more children learn to read.

The Tepperman’s family has a long history of community involvement. They encourage their employees to volunteer in causes they care about and donate to initiatives that improve opportunities for children and youth, while also supporting larger community needs. On July 29, 2016, Strong Start’s Executive Director, Machelle Denison, Board Chair, Steve Cameron, and Development Co-ordinator, Christina Proctor joined other recipients at Tepperman’s new store for a heartfelt cheque presentation ceremony. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet with the Tepperman’s family personally, and hear of their passion for giving back.

We would like to thank Andrew and Noah Tepperman, and all members of the Tepperman family for their kind support of our organization. We welcome Tepperman’s to the Strong Start family, and wish them success in their new location.
