If
You Volunteer, You’ll ‘Get It’
One of the key volunteers at the school, when telling her friends
about her activities at the school, was asked,
“Why would you do that for free when teachers are paid to
do that sort of thing?” Her response was, “You just don’t
get it. You just don’t get it!
It’s what it does for me. It’s leaving each day after
my work with the children, feeling great. It’s realizing that
I’m learning too.
I also know that what I am doing is important because teachers do
not have the time to be with just one child for 25 minutes and yet
that one-to-one experience for the child seems to do so much.”
