Our thanks to Peter Ham and the members of the Brantford Blast hockey organization for welcoming the local Strong Start family to the Brantford Civic Centre for the game on January 3rd! Prior to the holiday break, the Blast provided a Family Pass for each of the children currently registered in Strong Start programs in our region.

Our thanks to Javyion Elfner (J.L. Mitchener School) and Ethan Snyder (Holy Cross School) for being there to participate in a centre ice presentation to open the game and the ceremonial puck drop. They did a great job! Our thanks as well to Brant MPP, Dave Levac, who also attended to show his support and help to thank the Blast organization for their support.

We had the opportunity to set up a display in the main lobby of the Civic Centre to provide community members with more information about Strong Start, share information about becoming a financial sponsor and recruit new volunteers. Our appreciation to Diana Tedford, Site Co-ordinator at Central School, and Miranda Ott, Site Co-ordinator at Banbury Heights, who attended the game to provide information about local programs. Our sincere appreciation for their time and enthusiasm!

It was wonderful to see so many Strong Start families there to enjoy the game. A great time was had by all, and to complete the evening, the Blast won! Our heartfelt appreciation to the whole Blast organization for providing this opportunity to showcase and celebrate Strong Start in our community.
